My friends think I go to exotic countries, especially when I have to tell them which continent it’s on. When I get there, even if everything is new to me, it’s A Normal Place to the people who live there. I am the exotic foreigner, not them.
If I change planes four times to get somewhere, it’s a remote place for me to go. But it’s A Normal Place to the people who live there. It’s not remote for them. It’s just home.
Where I live, I am never far from a wheat field, a corn field, or a cow. That’s A Normal Place for me. But it would seem very exotic, unusual, and remote to many of the people I have met in my travels around the world.
So this blog is some of my photos of A Normal Place that seemed exotic when I was there. I intend to post one photo per day, from anywhere I have visited in the world. The next day’s photo might be related, or a completely different continent. If I am traveling, I may post several photos taken that day. But other days, it will just be a favorite photo from years ago. I hope you enjoy them.
Everything is my original work, and it’s copyrighted. If you want to make it the background photo on your computer, solely for your own personal use, that’s OK.
